Hi guys! My skin is an absolute wreck. I used Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash about two nights ago because I noticed my skin is breaking out and I had a horrible reaction to it. My skin felt like sandpaper, i have little red rashes and bumps and it felt like I had experienced a chemical burn. I quickly ran to the store and grabbed a moderately heavy Cetaphil lotion and put it on repeatedly throughout the day. My skin later on started to get even more irritated to the point I was almost in tears. Luckily, I have a friend who happens to be a chemistry major and he said it seems like a allergic reaction to the salicylic acid within the face wash. He then told me to use some baking soda mixed with water and apply it liberally on my face and to also leave it on for about fifteen minutes. My skin no longer felt like it was burned per say but it still is a little irritated and very dry. I'm afraid to apply lotion or a moisturizer because I don't want my skin to react like that again. What should I do? What products do I need to use? Thanks so much!

The body shop moisturizers are great! Also, I would exfoliate using st Ives apricot facial scrub. then, make a mask using 2 tsp of honey and one whole avocado mix It together. Leave on face for 30 min. Hope this is helpful, feel better!!(:

i would definitely recommend Cetaphil moisturizer. Cetaphil can be purchased at Target, Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, etc., its known to be medicated to treat dry, irritated skin. I hope you give it a try & feel better! :-)

my son is allergic to a lot of things so when he breaks out he gets dry red patches all over and it itches him so bad, I took him to the Dr and they prescribed him a moisturizer called vanicream, its for sensitive skin and it works so good and makes his skin feel so soft. Idk if u can get it at a store or just a Dr, but maybe u can try that
