I'm like you I get carried away and just don't know how to control myself! I have boxes of unopened makeup, need to take a time out!

I tried a makeup no buy and it's not working ugh. How about we limit ourselves to $20 a month? If you really want something more expensive you can save up for it?? And that way you can buy drugstore items and still come home with a little something =}. In going to try this !! Lol

I lasted one month and could've gone longer if my husband didn't come with stuff for me and then I needed to get a lipstick or eyeshadow to match up with x,y and z. He is a huge enabler.

No makeup spending for a month or two is a great idea! i would push it out another few months or until you finish most of the ones you have now. I've done it for 6 months (self control) besides, the holidays are coming up & its a great idea to start saving up for Christmas, you can do it! its like going on a diet, Lol! ;-)

If you have a YouTube channel you could do a blog sale to sell your unused makeup

I've tried this because I do have a lot of products. I do several things to steer clear. First, I stay out of CVS because I always have coupons and use it in skincare and makeup items. I also stay away from Target. If I have to go to either place, I dash past the makeup. Sad I know. Sephora and MAC are easier to avoid. The biggest motivation I use to avoid buying too much make up is that I am planning to go on vacation and I really need the money for that. It's so hard to do but it can be done. :-)

Think to yourself do I need it? Only spend on things you wear every day like concealer!

Idah, something that helps me: I pick out which products I need everyday to feel I am taking good care of my skin and feel good. Not which brands or specific colors, just the products. (example: mascara). Once you know that, it's easier to avoid things you don't need. Tell yourself: if I go (this amount of time) without buying ANY makeup other than everyday basics that have run out, I will buy myself______. And pick a nice makeup set you really want that has come out during your fast. Keep a pin board of all the things you like during your fast time and you'll fufill that "collect" need and only end up with that thing you really just oh-so-much love (: goodluck!!
