Well what color is your hair now? If it's dark, you'll have to bleach it first, and if it's light you can just go over it with purple. I suggest you go to a hairdresser though; sometimes weird, out-there hair colors can turn out wrong if you're not careful. I would know, my hair is bright teal right now :)

You could try putting straight purple over your natural hair, it should pick it up, but I'm not a professional by any stretch so I'd ask a hairstylist and see what they say.

And if you want a very pale color put conditioner in the hair color! A lot! Until it gets the color you will want your hair, then leave it on for 45 minutes to an hour. It won't hurt your hair if you put a lot of conditioner in it.

I had light blue hair, I bleached my hair then used manic panic and mixed it with white conditioner. Manic panic has a really nice purple I used it on my friends hair!
