Nutra nail sells a thickening base coat with a glossy too coat at Walmart for a couple bucks and it works great! Also, this cream called hoof cream that's also sold at Walmart and that too works really good :)

Eat jello... The Knox gelatin makes them hard and reckon has a great calcium polish too. Keep them hard and they won't break or tear so easily. It took me forever to get my nails back to " healthy" after I quit gettin acrylics!!
