The YSL Glossy Stains are a one of my favorite lip products. But lets face it- a hefty $34 price tag is not within mine, or most people’s budget.

But fellow beauty-lovers, rejoice, for I have found a truly identical dupe! I I give you... the L’Oreal Color Caresse Wet Shine Stain!

Lets start off with the packaging. Though nothing compares to the magnificent elegance of the YSL Glossy Stain, considering that its from the drugstore, I think it is pretty decent. It has a gold plating on it, which gives it a nice ‘luxury beauty” feel, without a “luxury beauty” price tag.

It has a plushy, doe footed applicator, just like the YSL Glossy Stain. The angled applicator makes it easy to get around the corners and philtrum of the lips. There is a ring on the mouth of the bottle that removes any excess product, so the applicator never comes out overly-saturated in stain.

Here comes my favorite part- applying it! Hence the name wet shine stain, it has a very watery feel to it when you first put it on ( but not a watery consistency ). After thirty seconds, the wet feeling subsides and you are left with a very shiny, very pigmented gloss look. It is, just like the YSL Glossy Stain, slightly sticky, but not to a bothersome extent. On a more natural makeup day, I dab a little “Rose On and On” in the center of my lips. It has a really natural tone to it, that is almost identical to my lips.

As for staying power, the full gloss effect remains for four or five hours. Once the shine diminishes, you are left with a really nice stain to the lips, which lasts all day.

My only complaint is the color range. The YSL Glossy Stain line, which boasts 49 colors, this line makes the Wet Shine Stain shade range look minute.

All together, I’m super satisfied with this product. It truly is identical to the YSL Glossy Stain. At $9.99 I would strongly recommend that you go pick up one ( or two, or three, or four :) )
