I have dry skin and am wanting to know if a powder foundation like bare minerals is okay to use instead of liquid foundation. would it be too drying?

I have always been told for dry skin use a liquid foundation. I tried bare minerals for my skin and even with priming my skin didn't like it.

I always recommend liquid regardless. I like powder if you have decently clear skin and just need a little coverage

Liquid. You can get formulas that are hydrating! Powders will nearly always going to highlight dry patches.

If you have dry skin, you may want to check out laura mercier's powder foundation! It has light buildable coverage that looks really natural and it gives you a glowy/shimmery finish! Lovely.

Usually liquid, although there are some liquid foundations that reveal dry patches. Bare minerals is really good for coverage, I like to just use a ton of moisturizer, let it set, blot it away with blottin paper and then apply my foundation! I have a lot of dry skin too and this works for me

I laugh and hate liquid. Hate it hate it hate it!!
I have dry skin and use BareMinerals and I loved it. Then I read some MUA comment that dry skin should use liquid. I did that using a high end foundation and it looked DISGUSTING. My skin sucked it up and I had dryness everywhere. It was horrible.
If you have the extra cash then I recommend Tartes Amazonian clay airbrushed Powder foundation ( not the liquid one ) it comes on air brushed and will give BM a run for its money. Get the little brush for it too. I prefer it over BM.

If you exfoliate and moisturizer neither should give you much of a problem- but seeing as powders are anhydrous (not water based) they aren't the best choice for dryer skin

I have dry skin, yet liquid doesn't work for me because it gets really cakey looking. I actually use my BareMinerals foundation, but I apply cream on beforehand and let it set. I understand that liquid helps put moisture in your skin, but I've been currently using powder.
