It could be the formulation of the lipstick. Sometimes the formulas just aren't the right ones for us and tend to sink into the fine lines of our lips. If it's the first MAC lipstick you've bought from whatever line it is (creme sheen, frost, matte...) then it might just be the way the lipstick is formulated.

It never hurts to try! Your lips aren't actually dry and cracked, right?

Maybe put Chapstick on before and after ( or Vaseline)

Apply Vaseline before bed and in the morning.. also keep your lips moistened all times throughout the day apply chapstick or any other moisturizer that you may have. Also from time to time take Vaseline apply on your lips and take a toothbrush brush softly on your lips it helps remove dead skin and softens your lips. Do this once a week.

Maybe it just soaks in too much. Try using a lip balm and lip primer?

Matte lipsticks can do that sometimes! need lots of moisture, prepare your lips the night before for even better quality & let the moisturizer you use settle before applying lipstick right after.

You not only more stress under or on top of my lipstick you need to prepare your lips as Mica said just take a few days to moisturize and then applied do the exfoliating with a toothbrush and then use it

If its Matte lipstick then don't act surprised. They're very aging when it comes to appearance which is why I don't personally like matte products besides eyeshadows.
You can try exfoliating with brown sugar, olive oil, and honey. Then applying a strong lip balm like a medicated one.

I would exfoliate your lips (Lush's lip scrub is great, or you can make your own at home) to get all the dead skin off your lips. then use a lip balm to moisturize them.
I personally wouldn't put anything on them right before bed. for me it causes blackheads around my top & bottom lips, & we don't want that xD

Exfoliate your lips with a mix of sugar & honey. Then apply a quick swipe of lip balm (something that isn't shiny and contains beeswax). I do that everytime I'm about to rock any of my matte lippies. I do it before bed and even when I wake up in the morning. My lips even feel better after I remove the matte lipstick in the evening. Its all in the prep.

Try a lip primer underneath and gloss over it that should help.

I always put on Nivea Lip Butter at night and then the next day when I am doing makeup I put on chapstick before I start so that it's set in by the time I use any lip product. Also try a sugar scrub and it will help take away dead skin and leave lips smooth and hydrated.

I have a lipstick of samw shade just another brand and don't wear it because of same reason... It's smth about it which make dry skin look more evident, try to exfoliate and use somw nutritive balsams:-)

If its a matte lipstick than sometimes itll make your lips drier than what they really are. Everytime you shower take the wash cloth and rub it over your lips. Helps to take away dead skin.
