Umm well do you just use powder? like what's your makeup routine? also priming and moisturizing before can help!

Actually powder is for setting. Try not to use setting spray over it. Use it before. And use translucent loose powder with a powder brush:)

Setting spray is fine for use over powder - jaqueline H posted something before about how it emulsifies the powder or something - she gives such great advice so hopefully she can chime in n help you out too - I also agree with emily - primer n moisturizer are your friends - moisturize then follow with a silicon based primer to fill in pores so the powder won't get in there then you can set with spray after needed - otherwise do you use compact or loose powder? if you use compact you should start with a small amount and build up because the compact powder is heavy coverage so use a light hand to apply it - loose powder is more sheer so you can apply a good amount without having it look too cakey - but normally I find that cakey makeup is a result of not blending well enough esp if you use a lot of makeup its very important to blend it out completely to keep it from caking - hope that helps!

Do you use a primer?

Make sure you are not doubling up on foundation by using a liquid foundation followed by a powder foundation. instant cake right there. Also be careful if you use a primer. oil based primer followed by water based foundation will separate and leave your makeup looking all sorts of messed up. water based with water based, oil with oil. You can also try using a light dusting of your powder before you put on the foundation. The powder grabs hold of the foundation and gives you an airbrushed finish - no powder over the foundation at that point fyi.
