It's super super hard to maintain. since you have blonde hair, you need to fill it first which is essentially a bright red or brown so your hair doesn't fade orange, then dye it your desired red. I'd suggest a cooler more purple toned red from

Well I bleached mine since it was dark before and used Loreal hi color (one in red and one in magenta) with a 20 developer and now I use OLIA by garnier in light intense auburn every once in a while to revamp!

I also use the red shampoo by john Frieda

I am also a fellow red head (not naturally of course) my hair was dark brown, I used loreal hi color highlight in magenta with a 30 developer. I dye it about every 3-4 week's when ny roots grow it. I'm light skinned with brownish eyes also, I get many.compliments with my red hair (:

I don't know, everytime I dye it use the developer and yess I Mixx it all together according to the measurements.

You don't need to but developer for box dyes because it comes with it, but it's always handy to keep a bottle of developer on hand
