My flat iron is starting to crap out on me, so I need a new one. Chi is on sale at the JCP salon for $75. What do you think of this flat iron? I heard that everyone loves them but they break within a year.

Yes! I've had mine for two years now and its still perfectly fine. one for 75$ is a good price! I got the chi aurora for 80$ at tjmaxx and I'm in looe with it. it works for my hair type (blonde thick meduim long) :):) I say get it.

I have a pink zebra CHI limited edition from two Christmases ago and it's still running smooth! :) I really like it because it never creases on your hair and heats up super fast

I have the same one Brittany does. I bought it online for about $100, half off. lol mine broke cause I dropped it on tile. before you go for it, look up some reviews. I liked it, heated up fast and gave a nice, straight finish to my hair. but it damaged my hair a ton! I know any flat iron will damage, regardless of using a heat protectant. but then I looked it up and somewhere it said the chi is one of the most damaging hair straighteners! so look up some reviews, then decide. other than that I loved it! (sorry for rambling on😉)

Thanks Emily! I always use a heat protectant. But obviously that's not going to completely prevent damage. But that's not a big issue for me, cause I can't stop using heat on my hair! Lol. I just get my hair cut more often than everyone else. (;

I don't use heat protectant with my chi. it makes your hair so unmanageable at least mine! I don't press to hard on the plates and don't hold it over the same peice of hair and it doesn't damage as much. and I've dropped my chi so manty timea and its never broken.
