I have a lot of scars on my legs as well, from bug bites. We found kittens over the summer and had a REALLY stubborn flea infestation. No matter what we did I just kept getting bit. Well, finally they're gone and all I have left are scars. I've been using Soap and Glory Butter Yourself Body Butter. It has AHAs in it (alpha hydroxy acids) that exfoliate the skin and help turn over new skin cells. I use it every day and ingrown hairs are gone and the scars are lightening up. I haven't been using it very long so there's not a drastic difference but it looks much better and I think with continued use they will fade away quite nicely. They're very dark red so we'll see though. It's very gentle too though, since it's a body butter. I don't have any irritation from it. They also make shower gels with AHAs in it. Tone has one I think, in a yellow bottle. And a few times a week you could use a body scrub. I use one from the same brand that makes the body butter, but you can get one at the store for cheaper. For the face I would use a scrub once or twice a week and get a dark spot treatment. I've used and like Garnier Fructis' Dark Spot treatment. You should also wear sunscreen daily. AHAs can make you more likely to sunburn and in general if you have scarring the sun can darken the pigments in the scars and make them look worse.
