So do you put day/night cream in before moisturizer or moisturizer before day/night cream? Or does it matter?

Which one has more active ingredients? Which effect would you like to see more of in your skin? Which one is thicker? Whichever one has more answers is the one you should put on first, or at least that's how I decide.
