Honestly there are two options (I was a nail biter, I know about bad habits). One would be to be very aware of what you're doing, and every time you feel your hand go towards your face, make a conscious effort to move your hand away. The second would be to start taking really, really good care of your skin. Then, you have nothing to pick at, and your skin looks better anyways :) win, win situation. Anyway, if you'd like skincare tips please let me know, I'd love to help :)

I use a combination of Cetaphil, Neutrogena Fight & Fade Toner, & Cetaphil moisturizer. It's really all about what works for you. Cetaphil is a really awesome cleanser for virtually anyone with any skin type. The fight and fade toner prevents acne from forming and fades acne scars. The moisturizer keeps your skin soft and prevents dryness that can occur with the use of a toner and weather conditions :)

I'm a picker as well lol. I actually get a feeling of satisfaction after I pop a big one (ewww tmi) I'm very careful when I "extract" my pimples though. I make sure my hands are clean and my face is washed. then I apply an antibacterial spot treatment to the open sore. that stops them from spreading. also when you "extract" a pimple make sure you get all of the infection out or it will just come back so make sure they're ready when you decide to go for it :)

@Kenzie L. I understand that tmi satisfaction

As far as finding "the perfect skincare routine" that will be a matter of trial and error. before you even consider a reccomendation you need to know what your skin type is first. you'll realize that this isn't consistent either. your skin will change with age, weather, hormone levels etc. and your regime might have to as well.

Wash your face with a salicylic acid cleanser, it helps clear breakouts (I like Bioré's Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser). Do it night and day. Follow with an oil-free moisturizer in the morning (I like Neutrogena). At night, follow with a deeper moisturizer (at the moment I'm using the Body Shop's Tea Tree Moisturizer, it's not wowing me though). And for spot treatments try Burt's Bees Tea Tree Blemish Stick, and for masks go with clay masks like Lush's Cupcake, the Body Shop's Tea Tree mask, Queen Helene's Mint Julep mask, or (pricier) Origins volcanic ash mask (it's something like that, I can't for the life of me remember the name), or Glamglow's mud mask (waaaaay pricier, but really good). I hope I helped a bit, but I would also recommend going to a dermatologist, as well as getting facials every month or so. Facialists basically pick at your skin for you, and make it look better (in my experience). Good luck girl, acne goes away trust me! :) you just have to find a routine you like and then give it time to work.

Anytime! But like Kenzie said, it's definitely all about trial and error and finding what works for YOU, so if you feel like some of the products I recommended aren't working for you, try something else :)

Thought I,m the only who has this habit. I teach myself not to do this, and don t touch my face few weeks but then... oops did it again! and get a face full of scars, because my skin is very sensitive and sometimes a picked blackhead turns into a huge red patch of skin and I,m so ashamed to walk out this this face... It,s hard but.. really try not to do this. I started recently to use a cream with aha at night and it work, but my problems are miliums and blackheads, I don,t have breakouts:-)

Oh @Diana J. I get it you have to seriously make yourself stop and it's hard I have that same problem with picking one until I have a patch of red dry burning skin :(
