Ombre or Streak?

I'm planning to color my hair but I don't wanna damaged it again like before.

So I was thinking of buy hair extensions and coloring them myself.

I have dark black hair.
And I wanna get blonde extensions and do a pastel purple color

Is an ombre black on top and the color on the bottom good?

Or just pastel purple streaks. I would blend it in my regular black hair.

I had ombré hair and I've just had to have mine cut off and dyed back dark because it's ruined my hair so much so now I'm back to Shortish hair :(((
