Problems with baked eyeshadow.

So while I was at Sally's yesterday I grabbed two of the Sally's girl baked eyeshadows. They are beautiful colors, however when I opened them and tried to use them, they are so dry I can't pick up any of the pigments on my brush. I even wet the brush, still nothing. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Or should I just accept the fact that they are poor quality?

I have some of them, and they work great. But I have a couple that wouldn't pick up like yours. I really liked the one color that didn't work so I just stabbed it and crushed it up with the back of my makeup brush and used it as a loose powder lol
I find the Sally girl makeup are very hit and miss with some colors

Lol the thought of busting it up has crossed my mind... They were only 99 cents a piece. I wonder if there is a way to turn the purple one into a gel liner?

I know it sounds weird but just try using your finger. I find sometimes that brushes don't give me the pigment pay off that I'm looking for but if I use my finger it looks great.

Nadzhe it's not weird at all, you might be right. I swiped my finger across it and did pick up some color. I suppose I can pat it on my lid and blend it out with my brushes.

Ugggh I just rubbed my finger really hard into the purple, it was nice and pigmented, then tried patting it on the back of mind hand.., most of it stayed on my finger! Lol. And yeah I hate spending money on something that doesn't even work! Ugghhhh.

Finger swatch: it almost feels and sounds like I'm rubbing my finger on styrofoam.

Oh no! Crush the whole thing up and make a loose pigment thats the only thing I can think of to do next, ugh so unfoutnate but you know now not to buy those.

True! I won't be purchasing anything from the brand again, and they were only 99 cents each, so no biggie. I doubt I will crush them though, I have a strong dislike for loose pigments. I find them overly messy... Oh well, I could always give them to my 13 yo niece.

Mix it with fix+, or contact solution to make a liquidy gel liner haha. I've also seen people mix loose crushed up eyeshadow with Vaseline to make a glossy gel liner. If you used the entire eyeshadow you'd get a super pigmented little jar lol.

Honestly, I have about 12 of those, my mom gave me a bunch in my Christmas stocking last year and a good 8/12 of them are fantastic and work better than some of my high end eyeshadows, but there were a few that didn't work at all.

@alyx can you recommend which colors worked out for you?

@laura you got some good taste, girl :) I love purple and gold!

@lauren, it was the first time trying the brand, and yes, now I know better! Lol

@stephanie, I was checking out the other brands they carry and was not impressed. Nothing popped out at me, and it seemed like brands you would find at Walmart or a discount store... AND I wasn't entirely impressed by their nail art selection :(

I usually crush it up then put it back in the eyeshadow container and pour alcohol then let it evaporate and its a super pigmented eyeshadow! the alcohol evaporates completely
