I was wondering if it's possible to polish over acrylics with a regular nail polish.
I get my nails done once every year for vacation. Usual white tip or black tip. Now I was thinking to just get them clear acrylics and just paint polish them with different color anytime I want.
I see some people do that just not that much. Will it damage the acrylics?
And if yes possible to paint over them? What kind of nail polish remover is best to remove them?
*personally I just want to try something new with my nails this vacation. I want to change the color or style every other day instead of hAving one plain style.

Painting acrylics shouldn't hurt them, if I get acrylics I always bring a polish color with me and have the girl apply it for me. And as long as you use acetone free nail polish remover and do it quickly, it shouldn't ruin your acrylics either.

Not at all! I do acrylics and use polish all the time. My only suggestion is to not use acetone-based remover because acetone aids your acrylics into getting loose and popping off. Also, make sure to use a good top coat to avoid chipping. And if you use a clear you've gel top coat.. Make sure the polish is VERY VERY dry before applying and curing in a lamp or else the top coat will crack like glass! I always blow dry my polish on a low, cool setting and use gel and it works fine and lasts over 2 weeks without chipping or cracking.. but if I want to change the color often I use a regular top coat (2 layers) and it will last around 4 days without chipping.

Yes, you can paint over your acrylic nails :p
however, you can't remove it with regular nail polish remover or you will damage the acrylics below.
like Klaire said, you need to make sure it's a non-acetone base & you should be fine.

Thanks girls :) I just knew someone that did gel nails and painted over them with nail polish and every time she took the nail polish off, it looked like the nails were chipping and cracking off :(
