Inversion method help!!

Okay so I read about the inversion method and understand all it's 'steps' but my only question is, do you have to put oil on your head every night? I mean wouldn't it get greasy and yano? Also does the oil have to be heated? Then I could be a hot oil and inversion treatment at the same time! Thanks.
