I have split ends but don't want to spend a lot on treatment and REALLY don't want to cut my hair!! Any ideas????

Unfortunately, you can't exactly reverse split ends when they happen. However, you can prevent them from occurring more often in the future by changing the way you treat your hair.
Try to avoid heat treatments (straightening, curling, blow drying) as much as you can. If you are going to blow dry your hair, use a cool setting. Also, when combing your hair, use a wide toothed comb and be gentle when brushing it.
At the moment, you should get a 'dusting' cut off your hair which will only remove the split ends. You don't want to keep them on there too long or they will get worse.

You should at least get a trim. I know the feeling though. I've been growing my hair out for years and I hate losing length.
In the meantime, check out the Nexxus ProMend line. I tried the conditioner, leave in creme, and flat iron spray, and I am really impressed. It's done wonders for the appearance of my hair. I still need a cut, but at least it doesn't look like a fried mess in the meantime.
