For starter, I would suggest you don't buy single makeup product because you'll end up spending on things you only use 1 time. Invest your money into good Pro palettes like lips, foundation, powder, etc. it saves you lots of space and lots of money ;) only buy single of you think you're going to use that product a lot :)

I heard a good tip from a makeup artist here:
When buying buying foundations buy on lighter an darker sides of the spectrum. That way you can mix them to get complexions in the middle

Nows a great time to buy palettes, the selection around Chrismas is huge! I'm a makeup artist and I adore the Tarte blush pallette, has contour and blush shades. If your a liscensed makeup artist you can apply for a MacPro card and get 40% off. Sephora also has mua deals. And I also have both the Urban decay naked pallets and a bright pallette and that's almost all I use. I agree with buying a few foundation shades and mixing custom shades for each client. Lise Waitier concealer pallettes are my fave! Hope some of this helps!
