Milk of magnesia is not beneficial for the skin when used every day. You can buy an oil free face wash, a toner you could use ACV & a mattifying moisturizer to help you keep shine at bay, you might want to use oil blotting sheets too! :)

There's an cleanser made of an oil that attaches itself to your oil and it all washes off together when you rinse.

To get rid of oil, you simply use oil.
It sounds funny and absurd, but it's how it works.
Your skin is a sensory organ, the more you take away it's oil, the more it will make to compensate for it. A good example would be nail polish... if you paint on a fresh coat of polish over an old coat of polish, and wipe it, it comes right off and leaves it with a clean nail. It's basic chemistry, like dissolves like. You can use any oil to moisturize your skin, and it will replace the nasty oils your skin produces.
My best friend took my advice after calling me nuts, and called me maybe two days ago to tell me that it worked. She used vitamin-e oil I believe.

If your skin is oily, it might mean that it is actually dry skin that overproduces to make up for it. In this case, just make sure you moisturize plenty and drink lots of water (which you should do regardless)
However, if you're like me, your skin could be oily simply because it's oily. To solve this,
I use corn starch. Mix it with enough water to make a paste and then put it on your skin. Wait for it to dry then wash it off in the shower. You might get over dried or break out at first, but if you ease into it and work up to once a day, it is such a huge improvement. Also getting a good primer and a setting powder help, too.
