I was thinking it would be good if we add our age when recomending a Beauty product Make up /Skin care. I'm 38 probably a lot older than most on here lol.I think this would be really helpful because what foundation looks awesome on someone in their teens early 20's doesn't mean it will someone one older ;-)
Yall have been so helpful on here and I have learned so much Thank You!

I think that's a great idea! I look exactly like my mother. Same complexion, hair color, face structure etc. But she's 41 and I'm 17. I try to use the products I use on myself when I do her makeup, but they just don't work on her. Vice versa, I'll borrow her foundation or lipstick and what looks flawless on her looks a hot mess on me!
Again, great idea!

I like the idea. I'm 65 and really don't need a foundation aimed at a teenager with oily skin.

I agree as well, its very hard to suggest something to someone when you don't know what their age is. Like I don't want to suggest to a 13 year old to buy a YSL foundation when they ask what they should use!

Yes I agree,I'm 17 but anyeay my mom's foundation and other make up items works great on me: )

I definitely agree!! Coz then everyone would be able to get to see product suitable for their age!! I'm 17 and I face so difficulty in searching for a product suitable for my age!

I'm 28 and I can't use d same product which I used during my teen.

Good idea. I love talking about skincare and try to offer my advice to as many people as possible. the more info you give about your skin (and age has a huge part in that) the more helpful and accurate someone's suggestions will be.

I think that's a great idea as well...it's to better help the person out.

I agree, I'm forty and my skin is still very oily but I can't use the same products as a teenager. Although I still like to use noxzema every once in a while.

I like that idea. I'm 39 and try to be mindful of that when giving advice.

@Sevetria...40!? I thought you were 25. You look great!!

A really nice idea:-)

I completely agree. On makeupalley you can filter by age, complexion etc..and I find this feature very useful. It would be helpful and more efficient for posts requesting recs to give info such as skin type for skincare or hair type etc..

Btw I'm 41...

I agree age can be a factor at times as to which products we might prefer. I'm 36!
Nov 22, 2013
Helane P.
Definitely can be a factor ,our skin,s needs change with age..I'm 36

I think it's the physical condition of one's skin that is most important. People age at different speeds due to factors such as genetics, sun damage, smoking etc. And also the skin type is very important as well oily, combo, normal, dry etc. So instead of saying "I'm 35 and I love "x" foundation". You would say, "I'm 35, I have combination skin and moderate signs of aging such as smile lines and forhead lines and I love "x" foundation.

Bree, I never would've guessed you were 36!
I think the idea is good in theory, but a 20 year old can have the skin of a 40 and vise versa, it all depends on the makeup and how they take care of their skin
Nov 23, 2013
Shelley W.
I second that Brittany. Bree, you do not look 36. You look much, much younger. ;)
