I grew mine out. filed gently until smooth with my natural nail (be very careful your nails are thin!) and I filed the ends with an acrylic file until the started popping off at the sides. while I was waiting for them to grow out, I painted them dark or bright colours so no one could see the grow out. you'll need a base coat, 2 coats of polish and a good topcoat. the nails under those extensions will be sensitive and sore - that is why I choose to grow mine out instead. acetone works well also. it requires a lot of time, patience and care. it can also dry your skin out. my cheap trick was to only go and have the nails put on every four months and just grow them right off. but that was a lot of maintenance. good luck!
