French braids look pretty if you learn how to do them and so do lace braid headbands. There are tutorials on youtube :)

My haor its about 3-4in past mine and braids look fine, but you could scrunch it after you curl it or just curl it alone. Or try doing a half up half down (curled, straight or whatever you want) and add a big bow.
