If its a red lipstick I would go for a natural makeup or soft smokey eyes.. I prefer to enhance either my eyes or my lips like if I want a dramatic eye makeup I would go for a nude or very light colored lipstick and if bold bright lips then soft eyemakeup.

I always reach for a soft understated bronzy eye or a winged cat eye with black gel liner for a red lippie. I want my lips to be the focal point.

For red lips during the day I'd do a very simple light eyeshadow not too far from skin tone and easy mascara. For red at night, maybe a nude contoured shadow, liner and mascara. For bold lips easy on the eyes. For more dramatic eyes I usually wear a pastel pink or soft neutral. Something not too flashy so the eyes can make their statement.
