Primer protects your face from harsh makeup. Bb cream should not harm your skin though, because it is a good product.

Primer is not only for eyeshadow primer is simply something you put on to help your makeup EYESHADOW primer is for underneath your eyeshadow there is face , lip primer to help makeup last and look better, primer does not refer directly to eyeshadow though.

Usually face primer is only to be used when you're also using foundation, not BB cream, because foundation is thicker and can clog up your pores. It could be that you're not washing your face enough and not removing your makeup before bed. Or sometimes we use so much products on our face that it clogs up our pores. There are some products out there to help with pores.

I feel it is, but cosmetics aren't the only thing that clog up your skin. Your moisturizer ( Especially if it has SPF in it ) can clog pores too.

Face primer makes a difference too, depending on your skin type as well.

Primer is used mainly if you're putting on a full face (foundation, concealer, contour, powder, etc). It makes your makeup go on so much smoother

Primer isn't 100% necessary however it works wonders. For about a year I just never used any primer or anything like that. I used my moms old one(she never uses it... I swear her skin is perfect) its by Mac. My acne is starting to fade faster and my makeup not only looks better, smoother, and shows up more, it makes it last so much longer. I use it everywhere. Eyelids, face. But I heard the primer potion is amazing for eyelids. I haven't tried it but heard great things about it.
Anyway, If you think your pores are clogged by your makeup, primer is something you can invest in. So worth it!
