I covered my lid with a light matte green then used a matte pink in the crease and followed with a soft shimmer brown/gold.

Did you use a shadow base and or primer on your lid first... if not thats probably why there is no color pay off... try those and it may look better... and post the pics too k :)

Pink and green are opposite on the color wheel and make brown when combined so you have to be really neat. And a primer helps too.
