I am running low on foundation currently using mac studio sculpt. I like medium to full coverage. I wasn't supwe impressed with mac foundation and looking for something new. I have normal skin and I'm not acne prone the only thing I really have to take into consideration is I have fine lines on my forhead and the thickness of the studio sculpt makes them even more prominent.

No, you don't have to. I just used my regular primer with it.

I have Urban Decay Naked foundation and I love it. It's rather sheer but can be built up to whatever coverage you need. Kat Von D's Lock It is also good, but most of the colors have strong undertones so finding exact matches to your skin is more difficult.

My holy grail product is the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation.. its a buildable-medium coverage, and it just looks flawless on the skin!
