Ok, I've always been super hesitant is using a eye lash curler as I fear I might lose eyelashes in one way or another.
Is this something I should be worried about? What are the pros and cons? And any tips?

Pros makes your lashes look longer. Cons I believe they weaken them. At least they did for me. But anything you do can weaken them.

I spray hair spray on my mascara wand then apply my mascara carefully. It works and it doesn't really hurt your lashes.

I use one everyday, no damage has been done. But one thing, don't curl your lashes after applying mascara (it can stick to the sides of the curler and rip out lashes) or use it while your eyelashes are wet. Other than that, it makes a HUGE difference on some eyelashes. Go slow the first few times you use it, and don't squeeze to hard. Firmly but not too hard. Go from the base of the lash, curl, and move up a cm, curl, and repeat till the end of your lashes. This makes it so it's a gradual curl and not just a flip up lol. And it's harder to catch your eyelid if you go slow. If you think your eyelashes are getting damaged apply a tiny bit of olive or coconut oil on your fingers, rub together and then glide on your eyelashes. You don't want a ton, just a tiny amount will do. Sorry these are scrambled around its 2am and I can't sleep so my minds very scattered lol.

That's super helpful! Thanks a ton. Is there a difference in pumping the curler on the lashes or just holding it firm?

I use a Shu Uemura eyelash curler and I find that doing quick and light "pumps" make my eye lashes more curled and the curl lasts much longer. But if you're using the curler for the first time then I would suggest to start with holding it firm, and not with too much pressure or your lashes might be "broken". Hope this helps. :)

I have stubborn straight lashes and I find holding it firm is the only way they curl for more than a minute. But pumping works for other people.

Go,for it and use the tips above but my doctor mom has cautioned me about it, it isn't healthy for your lashes.

So, gave it my first try, it's hard not to squint at the same time! I think I need to trust myself a little more :)
