Sarah I use milk of magnesia now. It keeps me matte but it does not keep my foundation on, and it makes me look cakey.

Jessica, I'll definitely check out that primer! Pretty sure I've used it before though. I planned on getting samples of all of these anyway. I just wanted to hear everyone's opinions. :)

Deff try the smashbox Photofinish light, and also the hourglass primer, I've heard soooo many great reviews on it.

I actually have a sample of the Hourglass primer, but I have yet to use it. Thanks so much Lexi! I'll look into the photofinish light as well.

The porefessional keeps your makeup on but it doesn't keep you matte. I would use that with milk of magnesia. nyx and neutrogena have primers for oily skin. if you ask someone at sephora they can help you pick out samples if you tell them your skin type and what you're looking for

I have the hourglass Primer. It really is amazing, but if you have oily skin, DO NOT use it. I bought it just for winter when my face is dry, and it gives that most amazing dewy finish, but it will make you look so greasy and your makeup rubs off so easily in humidity and hot weather. Its made out of a lot of different oils, although the best thing I've bought for my hair and face, based on what you've said, you probably won't like it and consider it a bit of a waste of money :)

For low end I'm using Hard Candy skin perfecting primer. it works really good for me. I find it looks best if you wait 5mins after applying to put on foundation.
for more high end, I've been DYING to try Too Faced Primed & Poreless. it looks amazing & I've heard great things from everyone. I've also heard great things about Smashbox's primers.

Josie I find that surprising because I've always heard great things about Hourglass primer, for oily skin. But honestly $52 for a primer is pretty steep. So I'm not exactly sure how I feel about it. I use mainly high end products, but I find that price unappealing.
Kyra, I have heard a little bit about Hard Candy primer, so I'll look into it! I also want to try Too Faced, the oil free version though. Thanks for the suggestions!
And thank you Emma!

No matter what everyones skin reacts in different ways to many different products, I've just had a lot of trouble with it in hot weather, I can only assume thats what your skin would do since it sounds so similar :)
