Hi! I'm new to this site, and also fairly new to makeup. I just started wearing over the summer, so I kinda have a lot to learn. High School Junior. Any tips or warnings of mistakes I could make/be making? Or maybe some tricks or strategies to help me improve? Thanks much!

Be sure to blend your your eyeshadow so it looks nice

Here's some tips I've learned:
- you can find the right tone of foundation by matching it to your chest, or to your face in natural light.
- blend your foundation under your chin & onto your neck a little to avoid that "mask" look.
- if using a cream/liquid foundation, set it with powder! your body heat heats up the foundation causing it to "melt" which makes it settle into pores & fine lines & just looks awful.
- don't apply black eyeliner to only your bottom waterline (where your lashes grow), it makes your eyes look small, & weird honestly :/ apply to the top lid, it will make it more open.
- don't wear super dark shadow for just going to school, & especially not everyday.. you'll look like a raccoon (x
- experiment with products until you find one that works best for you.
- buy a concealer that's 1 tone lighter than your skin, it can double as a subtle highlighter for you for now.
- do your research! so many girls on here buy a product & then ask what it does exactly or if it's the right one for them. you'll be wasting money if you buy the wrong product & you will learn after really getting into it.. makeup is EXPENSIVE.
- if you do put on blush, don't go crazy! put some on your brush, blow on it to get the excess off, & then apply to the apples of the cheeks & blend up your check bone.
- if you get the mascara wand as close to your lash roots as possible & give it a little wiggle or twist as your going up the lashes, it will give you lots of volume & length to your lashes. don't just coat the ends, it's all about the roots ;D
-practice, practice, practice!
I could honestly go on for hours about everything that I've learned :p but these are kinda the basics I guess!

Just mess around and see what you like. as I have said
nothing is gained if you don't try something random with makeup

Don't put blush on the apples of your cheeks while smiling. once you stop smiling, it drops causing your blush to go lower when it should be on your cheek bones.
