With christmas coming you may find tons of deals actually. This is a great time to get all of your necessities. You can always check ulta and sephora and even the body shop. I'm not 100% what you are looking for but those are places I know are going to have brushes and deals.

The sedona lace 12pc brush set is awesome to me and they are having another 20% off sale. You can get the set for about 60 dollars now.

ELF makes amazing brushes in their studio line (not the dollar line, most of those are terrible.)
But they have an 11-pc collection for $30.00 (just shy of $3 per brush.) and speaking from experience, the brushes are fantastic.
Real Techniques makes some awesome brushes too, which are affordable, but still pricier than ELF.

Real Techniques unfortunately don't really come in sets except for a few, but there are two sets out for the holidays sort of, the Sam's favorites and then the limited edition eco brushes (something like that lol). But Ulta will sometimes have them buy one get one 50% off. They aren't super expensive to begin with, I think their most expensive thing is $17 and they are great quality brushes. I recommend the starter kit for eyes and the core collection for the face. I would also get the expert face brush at some point and a couple of the fine liner brush. You may need some other eye brushes though depending on what you use personally, but the only things I use that aren't RT are the two brushes I got with vice 1 and vice 2 and some blending brushes from Elf. I find that the RT brushes are versatile enough that I don't need all that many extra brushes even though the set only comes with around 5. They really do a great job of multi-tasking. There's so so many ways to use them.
