I never tried, but heard nice things about l'oreal wild ombres, there is one designed for dark hair. But you could do this with common bleacher too. I wad thinking about some ombree to and the best tips I've read on internet are -> to tease the hair above the line you'll start to avoid a harsh line between if you hair is without layers, and to make a top/ high pony if you have layers and tease it very well and dye. You could dye it few times to achieve a soft ombre, or to put the bleacher on ends ( for ex half of ombre lenth) hold a lil and then color the rest on hair till the trased one, hold till you'll get ther desired color and wash out. then you could use a tonnet to get the desired shade:-)

Evie there are a lot of ways to do this, but the main 'tool' is bleaching, for example you could get more highlights, this way you won't burn all of your hair same time. But better go to a professional because bleaching is very complicated, the developer should be chosen properly depending on many things lije hair color, texture, desires result etc:-)

When I ombre my hair with colors, I braid in sections to the point where I want the ombré to start so it's not a harsh line. I've only done this with veggie dyes though, not bleach.

Oka let say I depart the parts with highlights. It's not many. And what kind of bleach should I use?

How is your hair naturally straight/ wavy/ dry/ greasy... describe it? But anyway in most cases dyed brow turns into orange. And don't wanna be rude, but it's a lil impolite to use someone else's posting to get answers on your questions.:-)

I just put mine in pigtails for initial deep color at the ends but then I take them out and kind of comb/paint with a tinting brush so it's not just that blunt, dipped looking color. It's so easy and turns out great every time.

Thanks ladies.!!

I just want to fade out my natural hair color from darkest brown at the roots to light light brown (almost blonde) at the tips.

I hear ya velen. and I'm not going to run out to sallys tonight n go right home n dye it. I'm just asking questions n still going to google n YouTube..

is there anything I can use to lighten my hair other than bleach? for instance. the kits are bleach n peroxide free. what do they use?

You don't need to color your own hair you can just put pieces in your hair for the black use your own hair then under weave a auburn then under that a light auburn you would have to add hair anyway unless your hair is very long so there is no need to damage your own and the Kardashians all where extensions

I worked in a salon for ten years and noone gets that full look without adding hair unless you just have really long thick hair

Yeah. all celebs wear pieces for the most part. if not for length, for fullness. but I was just posting those more for how the colors blend is vs some of the other "ombre" pics I saw.
my hair is pretty long.. n thick. I just want something to spruce it up. I'm not going to cut it anytime soon I don't think..
and I love color. so if I lighten I can rinse it whatever colors I want.

You can put a rinse but its not going to lift the color it just deposits color so you can only get like a blue black burgundy or something like that only bleach lifts it like those pics and you do have a relaxer so bleaching ontop just dries your hair out so be careful sweet pea lol.
