Warm so your pores open and you can wash the gunk out of your face!!

Warm while cleansing to open your pores then cold to close/reduce the size of them(they don't actually close.)

Warm, then cold. Warm opens the pores and cold closes them to get the dirt out, plus the cold will wake you and if you put cold water on your undereyes you should have less dark circles :)

Catherine is right. You're supposed to use warm water to open the pores and cold to close them.
