Sigma premium kit about $169 but very comparable to Mac you'll get around 15 awesome brushes very much worth the investment!

Ecotools or Real Techniques. They're way more affordable! It's about $3/brush or $16/set of 5-6. Their quality is awesome too, no hair fallout and so soft for a synthetic brush. :)

How should I clean my brushes? and how often?
Sep 8, 2013

I clean them every 2 or 3 days, especially the foundation and powder brushes. You don't want any build up going on your face! I use a mix of dish soap and olive oil, swirl my brushes around and massage, then rinse and dry flat on a towel. :)

Eelf has some great brushes and they are super cheap. if your just starting out, I wouldnt get an entire set. its a waste of money since you probably won't know how to use most of them right away. I bought a set and they sat around for 1.5 years till I started getting more adventurous with makeup application. besides, if you are going to get a set they are going to cost some money, like 150-200. start off with some eyeshadow brushes from elf, you need a contouring brush and a fluffy blending brush at least. I also used a tapered brush for my first one and I use it constantly. cheap brushes will loose strands of hair as you wash them so be careful and try not to get where the brushes are crimped to the metal wet or it will loosen up the glue and shed like crazy. dry them laying down or facing down so water doesn't drip into that glued spot. I wash mine once a month if even that but I'm naughty. I should do it more. Also a beauty blender is great tool to have as well. it makes your foundation flawless and airbrushed looking!

I'd recommend sigma brushes... Well worth the upfront investment. They last forever!
