I normally use bb cream whenever I wear makeup, but I have some really bad acne and bb cream definetly doesn't cover it. I'm just asking if I should start using liquid foundation or is it too heavy on my skin? I'm only 13...

I think its too heavy for your skin!! Just wear bb cream!! Your skin is still developing, if you use foundation it could make your pores clogged and may have a break out!! Just embrace your acne or use a concealer?

Maybe try mixing your foundation a little of it into your bb cream?

Personally I like foundation. If you don't want to use too much, consider using one thin layer of full coverage foundation. You don't need much of it if it's full coverage, and it's guaranteed to cover all the acne.

Some cheap full covg fdtns are:

Revlon Colorstay
Revlon Colorstay Whipped
Maybelline Superstay
Covergirl 3 in 1

(All are between $13-$16 USD)

Or try cc cream.. But I like to think that if you need the coverage, just go for a foundation. :)

Oh don't! your acne will get worse if you use something heavy such as foundation..Trust me,I have also been there;p There is a bb cream from Skin79 called intense classic balm and not only did it cover my acne, but it also made it a lot better.you should check it out. good luck:)

I had really bad acne and I started using proactive and it completely got rid of all my acne! I've had acne since I was 12, and I'm 14 now so I can relate. Try Olay cover up ( I forget the name, sorry! ) but I used it and it covered up any blemishes I had!

For youth skin, you want light products that won't clog pores. You can actually make your own bb cream with some moisturizer and liquid foundation if you wanted a lighter coverage.

I usually wear a tiny layer of light bb cream then put some foundation on top.

You can if you want to I had a break out in year 8 and I used a foundation for problem skin which had tea tree in it to help it while it was on you can because I understand bb cream is more for clear skin that just wants that extra glow, use a pore filling primer and if you do use a foundation remember to use a good face wash to get it all off.

Keep using bb cream to let your skin shine through but you could try using a concealer on areas that need more coverage. I recommend hard candys glamoflauge. it is sold at walmart and is only 6 bucks!! I recommend squeezing a tiny amount on your hand and use your pointer finger to mix and warm it up. with the same finger lightly pat on your marks. I recommend patting it on for a heavier coverage but start off with only a little bit because it is thick and you won't need a lot. hope this helps :) although break outs are usually hormonal, youre at a good age to start a skin regimen to help treat and possibly prevent breakouts (if you haven't already).

If you use the correct precautions and some different products before foundation, you can get the same effect of a bb cream with better coverage. BUT this process is more time consuming and is prone to melting off. But with a by cream it seems way more natural but not good coverage. Honestly, get an Asian bb cream like étude house or skin79 because it was formulated for coverage, with skin benefits. It has way more coverage and the American ones are more like tinted moisturizers. Believe me I know, just straight foundation will obviously make UR skin worse but before foundation I ALWAYS put a moisturizer first (over kill but for me 3 is needed) then a primer and then a setting spray. It keeps it lasting longer and puts a barrier between makeup and UR skin. If you are desperate to cover acne but don't want heavy skin, use foundation and moisturizer in a 1:2 mixture with any acne medication you have, and a sunscreen and apply that. Bb creams basically work the same. Look up get it beauty self acne on YouTube or acne coverage bb routines on YouTube. Try just a bb cream and a concealer (glam of flauge is by hard candy at wal Mart and is so affordable since you are only 13) and dam where needed. Sorry for the long note but these are all the options I can think of for you. I started getting cystic acne in fifth grade :) girl you are beautiful. And some of the most natural and happy make up comes from just embracing your insecurities. :)

The best way to prevent having acne is using suitable sun cream every two hours every day, using a soft scrub is really helpful.

I hate the BB and CC cream trend. If you have oily skin, stay away. I feel they're a gimmick. They're a tinted moisturizer with a new name.

Also, BB creams are not made to cover. They are simply meant to "even out" skin tone.

I personally cannot stand BB creams. They are nothing more than glorified tinted moisturizer which I never liked anyway. I think foundation is much better. I would suggest a higher end one because that's what has worked for me. I've never liked a single drugstore one I've tried and they always break me out worse even if they say 'oil free' on them. I would suggest Urban Decay's naked skin foundation. I have acne and this stuff covered it all with the smallest amount of product, it was a sample actually. (I've since ordered a full size and it should be arriving tomorrow). I barely had to use concealer when I was done. It isn't super heavy and gives the skin a great finish. I really loved how it made my skin look. It is pricey but I think its worth it. But just make sure you properly remove all your makeup at the end of the day so there's none left on the skin to contribute to acne. The cleaner your skin is the better it will feel. Since you're 13 you'll probably still have it, but keeping the skin clean and moisturized is still super important. You can also use a gentle scrub and a face mask once or twice a week. I use Burt's Bees Citrus facial scrub because it's very gentle and natural, and I like Freeman Avocado and Oatmeal clay face mask. Above all make sure you cleanse and moisturize though! And by cleansing I don't mean makeup remover wipes lol. To me that is not a proper cleansing because they leave stuff in your pores. Use a cleanser and water instead :) sorry for going on and on lol. I hope some of this was helpful.
