Spotty fake tan!! All the time!! Help??

Hey there ladies!!
I have been a regular weekly self tanner for about 4 or 5 years now and I use the St Moriz mousse or lotion in dark. Just about every time I get it off, reapply and rinse, my stomach, side of my hips and sometimes my lower back and top of my boobs will go very leopard like where the tan is quite dark in spots and light in others. There have been times in the past where it hasn't happened but it's happening more and more frequently and I am going away for a weekend in a few weeks and do not want to get in a bikini looking like a leopard!! Lol
I rarely moisturise so am not sure if this could be the leading cause.

Can all you tanners out there please give me some advice?? Do you think it's sticking to the dry bits of my skin in those areas and moisturizing often would help the leopardness? What are good moisturizers that will not turn my tan yellow?

Yes, your leading cause of spot tanning is dry skin. I suggest exfoliating often like 3 times a week at least and use heavy cream at night like cold cream so you wake up with nice supple skin.

My tan is like that now. The best fake tan I've used is st stropez the spray, it covers really good and doesn't go like a leapardness but good moisturizers I'd say clinique..((:

Al- I'm unsure of what cold cream is could you please give me an example? Sorry if that's the brand or anything but I've never heard of it, very interested to know!!

Megan- how frustrating is it!! Spend all that time getting it right just to be a leopard lol. I've never tried the at home st tropez products, but heard good things! Do you use that all the time? Thanks for your rec on a moisturizer too ill check them out :)

I've had this happen with that tan I use sugarscrub to exfoliate and then a body lotion before applying. A tan I find amazing for staying even is fake bake, the spray one :) expensive but so worth it!

Yeah I use St. Moriz when I can't afford fake bake lol sugarscrub and moisturizer definitely helps, no problem! :)

Also I don't know if its just me but if I use too much body lotion it goes on even worse than before.. might just be me tho.

It's great for the budget hey!! Do you make your own sugar scrub lib?
I find some lotions make me go from brown to yellowish do you find this too?? Drives me mental hahaha. A good trick I use to get it browner is to spray a "leg makeup" like le tan or Sally Hansen flawless legs without shimmer down my arm and then mix it with a small pump of the st moriz and it blends well and comes a really good color :)

Yeah thats what I meant it goes yellow haha. I will definitely try that, I love the sally hansen tan! I am using an fcuk sugarscrub atm but after looking up how easy it is to make I'm going to give it a go! :) do you make your own?

I'm so glad I'm not the only one!! how embarrassing lol. have you tried the sally hansen lotion? we don't have it over here but I saw it on beautyjoint the other day and was considering trying that out too!
ohh cool!! I've never tried a sugar scrub, I'm definitely going to look one up now and make one up :D

Hi I use this, I love it although you do have to moisturise because I find it makes my skin very dry, I find it best to use a moisturiser with no perfume in it like simple so it doesn't change colour I have also used dove gradual tan in light to moisturise and stop it fading. It seems to work for me I moisturise first then wait about 5-10 min before applying tan. Hope this may help.

No problem. I'm guessing it is as first time I used it it changed colour and I was using ted baker moisturiser but since using the non perfumed I haven't noticed it.
