I don't use maybelliene because they test on animals. So I can't help you there.

I HATE IT! WORST MASCARA EVER! It does nothing for my lashes; doesn't curl, isn't black enough, has a bad brush, is flimsy, ugh. Just... No. Do NOT recommend!

Its an okay mascara, but if you can change out the brush, do it.
