Buy small heels first and wear them around the house so you get used to them.

Start with small wedges. Best and easiest heel to wear. Good starter heel because its flat but still high.

I think it depends on the person's preference. I say this because with me, I didn't learn how to walk in high heels until I walked in high heels all the time. Wearing small heels did absolutely nothing for me. Wore them so long and the moment I put on a high one, I looked like a baby deer trying to stand for the first time. But yea, start small and see how that works for you.

Personally I find pumps easier to walk in than wedges... But I learned in them.

I still buy shoes that take practice before I feel confident enough to go out in them. buy heels that you like regardless of hight and wear them constantly around your house. eventually you'll know how to walk in those heels. tiffany is right about wedges being easy just make sure they fit well or they'll keep sliding off. high heeled boots and heels with ankle straps are also good beginner heels because they help stabilize your ankles.

I started tall, I'd never recommend "kitten" heels. my best suggestion is buy tall heels, and walk in them for growing increments oftme around your house :)
