What is a good hair color product to use at home, to save having to go to the salon? but will not damage hair or wash out easily.

I use Loreal creme hair color. I have tons of gray so I leave it on an extra 10 mins to make sure I get full coverage. The after conditioner that comes with it is to die for! I wish I could buy vats of it.
