Eyeshadow Help?

I'm about to go back to school and I really love the look of greatly done eyeshadow but I really don't know what colors to use, how to apply it, what brands and applicators work best or really anything I have chocolate brown eyes and I also wear glasses so I need something to bring out my eyes any help is appreciated! Thanks!
