Do you base your makeup products on the brand or the price?

Just want to know what you all think :-)

I base mine mostly on the price and the look of it in the shop rather than the tv adverts and brand name. Maybe it's because I'm a student with low funds, but price tends to matter more to me than product branding.

Right now I'm looking at the brand because I'm switching to cruelty free products (:

The colour and feel of the product. However, I will NEVER pay a lot of money for a basic product that you Can get cheaper - and has the same ingredients. And on the other hand - nail polish I do prefer the more expensive brands

I'll see the brand first then see how good it works then maybe compare it with cheaper products!

both! and i consider the "quality" as well

The price & whether or not they test on animals. So I'm not going to buy a 5 dollar Maybelline eyeshadow instead of a 12$ Sugarpill eyeshadow just because of the price. I'll pick Sugarpill since they're vegan/vegetarian.

Definitely more the brand when I'm choosing a foundation or concealer, but when it comes to most others, price! I'm a student as well & most high-end products I've found just as great cheaper options for :) xx

Good point about the vegan and not tested on animals thing, personally I'm not vegan or a vegetarian but I don't agree with the brands that test on animals. I couldn't afford to spend an expensive amount more for the animal testing free products but if they were a tiny bit more expensive than the cheaper brand then I would definitely consider it :-) thanks everyone x

Both! I have favorite brands whether that's drugstore or high-end. There are brands I'll spend more money on and there are brands I won't.

There are a lot of affordable (like drugstore price) cruelty free brands like makeupgeek (Yeah, that YouTuber), some mineral/loose eyeshadow brands... a bunch more but ihateonlineshopping loool. I know Sleek is good to use too. A pal of mine was supposed to send me a palette but I've never received it... hm. MUA Academy too, I think? (I'm looking at your location trying to figure out brands easily accessible there :P)

I tend to just see what looks best on me, won't make me breakout, ect.

Colour, followed by quality.

Price.. But of it's very bad quality I would pay more for better quality

I base it on the quality as well. "Animal testing" is questionable with brands....especially when things have been tested already....

Brand: If I hear or read good things about a certain brand/product I check it out. Price comes in later if I decide it's something I want to buy.

I go based off the price. I like getting good deals, so I'm always looking at the sales for both drugstore and high end products.

brand, cheap makeup can sometimes break you out.

I base it mostly on quality. I won't turn down something from the drugstore assuming its not more of a hassle.

I experiment with both high and low end. A true make-up junkie will play with them all.

- BOTH! For example I'm an Urban Decay eyeshadow addict so I own most of their palettes, but my mascara is L'Oreal and most of my blushes are from NYX. It's all about being smart in both quality and price.
