Everytime I try to backcomb it doesn't look as big as I want to be! Is it my hairspray or how I'm doing it wrong. I have really thick hair

invest girl.
i had the same problem until i switched combs and hairsprays.
you have to invest in a really good teasing comb, and a good hairspray i recommend big sexy hair. it stays in place all day long.
also, maybe start teasing in smaller sections.

Ooo okay! Thanks! I shall try the big sexy hair. I usually backcomb first then hair spray, what would be the best comb

1, Rat-tail comb and/or a (these re very inexpensive
2. Teasing brush (Paul Mitchell makes a nice one, but you don't have to get spendy)
3. Use a working spray for the teasing, and a stronger hold to keep it all in place.
