How to wear this shirt to make it more appropriate without having to add an undershirt? That sounds complicated but I don't like undershirts.

Even if you add a bandeau, it's basically the same thing, it'll show the same amount of skin. If this is for school then pop on a jean vest or oversized cardigan. If you're just going out then yeah a bandeau will be okay. :)

Wear a bra/bandeau with a thicker band, or wear a brassiere-like cut off tank, they have them at pacsun.

Lol the bandeau idea doesn't work for me because likevanessa said , it basically the same amount of skin being shown.
But it would just be me going out with my boyfriend or friends.

Or you could tie the sides. I usually cute the loose cloth off though I feel it looks much more neat that way.
