Individual False Lashes

I have long lashes naturally, but I still want to try false ones for volume. My friend wears hers EVERYDAY and for a week at a time without reapplying. Is that safe? And will wearing them make my natural ones fall out?

I wear individual lashes from time to time but not everyday because I don't want to end up like my aunt. In her younger years that woman wore them everyday and now at 60 she has no lashes. I don't know how in the world you friend sleeps with the lashes on but its definitely not healthy unless she has lash extensions put in by a professional.
