Everytime I put on my foundation it looks cakey no matter what I do. I have a good quality foundation. It's the MUFE HD. I moisturize before putting on primer and I let the primer sit for a while. I apply the foundation with a wet sponge and make sure to blend in well. But it still turns out cakey or chalky-like. Any suggestions?

Try using just the moisturizer or primer before, not both.

Try rubbing it in with your fingers maybe?

Rubbing it in might work cuz its not sitting on top of your skin, its being blended into your skin but if your acne prone than no questions asked it WILL cuz acne.

Use a pro brush from Sephora. Either the airbrush pro brush or the foundation brush from the Sephora line of brushes. You also should be using MUFE HD Primer to get full benefit of the HD quality in your makeup. So of you already don't have it, pick up the MUFE HD Primer.

Try pressing it in with your fingers after to help it sink into the skin, if this doesn't work it's probably just not working with your skin type.

Try mixing the foundation with moisturizer to give it a better consistency, and make sure you use a good brush.

Don't use a moisturizer and a primer, just choose one. Also you should use a foundation brush not a wet sponge, sponges are generally used more for cream foundations. You can try the Sigma F80 flat kabuki brush! Hope I helped :)
