Okay, so I've seen a lot of bb and cc cream adverts but I don't actually understand what they are? Are they used before foundation? Are they used as a foundation replacement? WHAT IS THEIR PURPOSE?!

I think you can use it before foundation for more coverage and its kind of like a tinted mosturizer. But I use it as a replacement for foundation when I don't feel like having that much makeup on.

Ahh I see.. So what's the difference between the bb and the cc?

They are I think meant to be used Instead of foundation, I would compare it to tinted moisturiser, but when I had a bb cream I still wore foundation on top because bb creams are very very sheer!

BB stands for blemish or beauty balm. CC stands for color correcting. Both are essentially like tinted moisturizers. They're not very high coverage, which makes them great for people who want sheer/medium coverage instead of full coverage. They can be used under foundation as a primer or base. Both claim to have skincare benefits.

Personally, I'm not a fan of either because they're sheer coverage, and are not too compatible with my oily skin. But sometimes I'll wear a BB cream if I'm just running to the store.

True BB creams are a multi-purpose product, meant to be used as SPF, primer and foundation. They tend to have light to medium coverage (occasionally full) and possess many ingredients to heal and protect this skin. Most are brightening/whitening, anti-aging, and oil controlling. Western BB creams are lighter and don't contain as many benefits as Asian BB creams.
CC creams are color correcting, and are made to produce an even skin tone :)

CC creams are great for people with acne or patchy skin tones :) BB creams are better for your skin then foundation and better coverage then a tinted moisturizer, kind of in the middle of both. generally bitg are Light coverage and moisturizing :)
