The pale/ pastel colors are going to look to light with your darker brown eyes- try a deeper blue. Or like stated above, add a pop of color with some neutrals. Also, you could use brighter colors in the center of your lid and take a dark brown or black in the outer corner and in the crease.

Do you use primer before you apply it? the color looks washed out but the application looks nice on you.

If find some cheap eyeshadow that's really bright to play with. If you like it buy some nicer makeup, if you don't then you've only wasted a few dollars.
