What does the coconut oil do for your hair and what kind of hair does it work for? I have semi oily hair and a little bit of damaged ends. How often should I use the coconut oil and for how long do you use it? I know some people do it overnight but I don't think that would work for me because my hair is already kind of oily.

My hair is kind of oily also so I just apply it to the ends of my hair usually at night or a LITTLE after I wash it. However, you could use it for a hot oil treatment akd leave it on for about 30 minutes & of course wash it. If you're thinking about the hot oil treatment, I'd do it on a night when you have nowhere to he the next day because even after washing my hair it was still a little oily but didn't want to over wash it. I use my all the time. Also, Redkken sales an emergency repair serum that isn't oily at all and you apply after shampooing. Worked wonders for my hair! Hope this helps and sorry for the "book" I wrote. lol ^_^

I do oil before I wash, leave it on for no more than two hrs and focus it on your ends. If your hair is oily try to put conditioner mostly on your ends.

Argan oil works better. Coconut oil is a bit too greasy for me but argan oil is light and even more hydrating. I use an argan oil hair mask from pro naturals once a week and it makes my hair so shiny and moisturized.
