So I just got my belly button pierced last week & I need some opinions on what would be best to use to clean it. I've been using dial soap & I clean it 1-2 times a day. Is that ok.?

That's what I did... Healed nicely for me.. You can also use this stuff called h2ocean to clean it.

Why don't you use the cleaning spray they give you? I don't know if its the same but in melbourne they give you spray that you spray onto the piercing!

When I got my belly button pierced, my piercer gave me Bactine (its in a green and white bottle) and I sprayed it onto my belly button twice a day and it healed perfectly. It may or may not work for you, just a suggestion :)

Go to awfulmodifications.tumblr.com it's run by APA approved piercers and body modifications experts. The right answer here is h20cean and similar products by the way, rubbing alcohol and hydrogen peroxide leads to scarring and Claire's ear solution is not sufficient. A quote:
"INGREDIENTS: AQUA, BENZALKONIUM CHLORIDE. ACTIVE INGREDIENTS: BENZALKONIUM CHLORIDE 0.1%
So, 99.9% of this product is water.
Here’s what the 0.1% of ‘active ingredient’ is used for:
Pharmaceuticals such as leave-on skin antiseptics
Antiseptic in Bactine to safely treat childhood scrapes and cuts.
Advanced, next-generation hand sanitizers
Hygienic towelettes and wet wipes
Cosmetics such as eye and nasal drops, as a preservative
Cleaners for floor and hard surfaces as a disinfectant
High-level surgical instrument sterilizing and disinfection solutions
Air and surface sprayable disinfectants
Over-the-counter herpes cold sore and fever blister single-application treatments such as RELEEV and Viroxyn
Algaecide
Please note, these are all in 30-40% solutions.
Some more research turned up that it’s used in 1% in contact lens solution.
So, Claire’s are selling people contact lens solution for £5 a bottle. Even weaker than contact lens solution."

I used dial soap and had no trouble. I did start with the H2ocean stuff and it dried my skin out and broke me out.

Just get some saline solution from the first aid section of your local drug store. Take a qtip and clean around the piercing with the solution. Don't rotate the piercing.
**P.S. the saline solution is a lot cheaper and goes a lot further than the h2ocean and it works just as well.**

NEVER use rubbing alcohol. In case of infection, heat the saline solution as hot as you can stand it, poor in a little Dixie cup and soak your piercing. :)

Dial soap 2 daily and idolized salt soak (sp)? make a warm water mix w the salt make it where it tast like your tears put it in a shot glass and let it soak a bit. I've had 737749492 piercings and this is what I did for most.
