This is going to sound a bit strange, but a lot of the art brushes sold al Michael's work great for makeup. In fact, many of them can be replicas to MAC brushes. I learned this from a makeup artist on YouTube

Real Techniques. I used the ELF ones for a long time but the metal part like breaks off from the handle after awhile and you have to fix it and then if the brush is bigger the hair thingies get really messy and impossible to put back in place, they're just not worth it. You get what you pay for. If you only need them for 6 months - a year they'd be good. But they were just bad for me.

ELF STUDIO! ( you can usually find the 11 peice brush set for 20-24 dollars! so worth it! now fallout and great quality! found online or tg max (usa) or winners (canada) ) BUT STAY AWAY FROM THE ELF PROFESSIONAL LINE!! nonono. they're awful... elf studio brushes can also be found at target for 3 dollars a piece. and spa resource has really nice ones for cheap at walmart.
